The Barracuda Load Balancer is designed to achieve high availability and security objectives by distributing traffic across multiple servers, protecting against network intrusions and providing comprehensive failover capabilities in case of server failure. With no per server or per port license fees, it is the most affordable solution in the market today.

For high traffic environments, the Barracuda Load Balancer can distribute traffic based on several scheduling algorithms, including round robin, server weighting and least connections. For applications requiring persistence, the Barracuda Load Balancer can maintain state using client IP addresses and client cookies. The internal service monitor ensures that servers and their associated applications are always operational. In the event of server or application outrage it facilitates automatic failover among servers to ensure continuous availability. Risks associated with load balancing failures can be mitigated by deploying two Load Balancers in an active/passive configuration. It is easy to use and maintain.
